My Parcel is Detained by Malaysian Customs

I just found out that one of my parcels from the US has been detained by the Royal Malaysian Customs. I received a letter regarding the matter and I'll have to go to Pusat Mel dan Kurier at KLIA next week.

I'm expecting to be taxed for my new clear stamp stocks since the total is more than RM1000, which is more than the untaxable amount of RM500.

I've read horror stories about dealing with the customs officers and I'm pretty nervous when it comes to official matters such as this. I'll have to ask for Yenny's favour to accompany me and also for some moral support; plus Yenny has this natural charm about her and hopefully the tax will be waived as soon as she works her charm. Lol!

I don't really mind the tax, but it's the stories that I've read about some bloggers' unfortunate experience with the customs officers that I'm worried about.

If you have some experience regarding dealing with the Malaysian customs, I would love to hear from you.

I really need your help this time, Yenny! Wish me luck, peeps! Keeping my fingers crossed here.

  3. and yes.. i heard horror stories too about the customs.. hmm.. maybe just mention that you're into blogging and how you will appreciate them in your blog if all goes well.. even ask for the officer's name perhaps :)...

  6. Hi I'm in the same situation as you. But I haven't got a letter from them yet. I think my courier service is trying to sort it out for me. It's been with the Custom for 3 weeks. Can you tell me what's the outcome of your experience with the Custom?

    I had to pay 30% tax out of RM1000+ total, plus RM50+ of service fees to PosMalaysia for sorting it out for me. I didn't have to go to KLIA at all. Just had to claim my parcel at the nearest post office and pay at the same counter.
